Healing
Touch (HT) is a multi-leveled program in energy-based therapies.
People with a variety of health concerns, both acute and chronic,
have benefitted from its application.
Receiving
Healing Touch.
After
an intake assessment, the Healing Touch (HT) practitioner will
invite the client to lie down, fully clothed, on a massage table.
After an energy assessment, the practitioner will balance the
client's energy centres, and/or specifically address painful or
compromised areas, using a variety of techniques (movement of
energy or light touch). The treatment is designed and flows from
the client's needs and comfort level. A period of rest is provided
at the end of the 30 to 60 minute session.
Becoming
a Healing Touch Practitioner
Courses
in Healing Touch have been offered in Canada since 1990. This
certified education program moves from beginner to advanced practice
(Levels 1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B). After successful completion of
Level 3B, a student can apply for the certification track from
Healing Touch International, which requires additional study,
mentorship and scrutiny.
Healing
Touch courses are open to all nurses, physicians and other health
care professionals and individuals desiring an in depth understanding
and practice of healing work using energy based concepts. HT is
endorsed by the American and Canadian Holistic Nurses' Associations.
The curriculum offers nursing continuing education units (CEU).
