When
I was nine or ten years of age, I had polio and had gone in for
surgery. In the operating room they gave me an epidural which
I guess I had a negative reaction to. I felt a tightness in my
throat. I thought that I was going to die.
All
of a sudden I found myself sitting on a shelf in the operating
room. An older gentleman was sitting beside me. I couldn't see
him but somehow I could feel him there. We were both swinging
our legs and chewing gum.
Looking
down, I could see a girl on the table. She looked like me. I said
to the man, "That girl is going to die, isn't she?"
The man said, "No, she isn't." He then said to me, "It's
time to go back now." I didn't want to go back. I did not
want the pain back. I felt surrounded by love as he told me that
I had to go back. The next thing I knew, I was back in the operating
room.

When
I was very young, I remember a small ball of light at night that
would hover over the day bed that was in my room. From it came
the most beautiful woman's voice which would sing to me at night.
When I woke up in the dark, it was always there to comfort me.
This light was with me for many years and today I can still remember
it vividly.
At
the time, it felt very normal and I had no idea that this was
not an everyday thing for everybody. Today, I believe that it
was an angel which watched over me and protected me.
