Acupuncture (Daniel Schulman) | Answer video

Acupuncture is actually part of Traditional Oriental Medicine, and offers a solution to a wide range of issues using needles, moxibustion (the burning of herbs on points) and other therapies to balance the ebb and flow of your body's "meridians." A truly holistic technique, acupuncture does not view your symptoms in isolation, but as part of a whole picture.

Holistic Nutritional Consulting (Rachelle Wood) | Answer Video

Registered Nutritional Consultant/Practitioners believe it is important to eat a variety of foods to ensure all essential nutrients are included in one's diet. A RNC/P will not only recommend dietary lifestyle changes, but is also trained to design personalized dietary supplementation. They can also provide guidance in making sense out of conflicting theories of nutrition.

Hypnotherapy (Cathy MacArthur) | Answer Video

Psychological therapy and counselling (sometimes referred to as the “talking cure”) is the treatment of emotional and psychological disorders, unwanted habits and undesirable feelings, using psychological techniques alone. The aim of all such therapy is to assist people (usually referred to as clients) in finding meaningful alternatives to their present unsatisfactory ways of thinking, feeling or behaving. Hypnotherapy uses hypnosis to achieve these goals. Hypnosis is a state of mind, enhanced by (although not exclusively) mental and physical relaxation, in which our subconscious is able to communicate with our conscious mind.

Iridology (Rachelle Wood) | Answer Video

Iridology is the science and practice of health analysis through the examination and evaluation of the coloured part of the eye called the iris. The iris is ultimately connected with the brain and the nervous system and through this path is connected with every organ in the body. Through iris analysis, we can see the conditions of all the tissue structures in the body and the location of imbalances, inherited weakness, acid deposits, toxic accumulations, and emotional and mental patterns.

Massage Therapy (Beth MacKenzie) | Answer Video

Massage is the oldest form of physical medicine known to man and can be traced back to the early Chinese medical manuscripts around 400BC. Massage is simply the manipulation of the soft tissues of the body - the muscles, tendons and ligaments. A massage therapist's hands are his or her most important tool, through which he not only treats the patient but also detects physical and emotional problems. Today, massage therapy is one of the fastest growing forces in the field of health care.

Meditation (Rev. Sandi King) | Answer Video

Meditation is recognized as a component of almost all religions, and has been practiced for over 5,000 years. It was originally designed to be a way of connecting to a higher power. It is still used this way, and is also now often thought of as a technique of "focusing" or "concentration" in order to connect to your unconscious mind, and to acheive an "altered" state of consciousness. The techniques of meditation are now used in many of the helping professions, such as counselling and psychotherapy, and are also used in a hospital/medical setting to relieve patient stress in an attempt to boost the immune system.

N.A.E.T. (Pat MacKinnon) | Answer Video

Nambudripad Allergy Elimination Technique, known as N.A.E.T., is a technique is based on the principle that when contact is made with an allergen, it causes blockages in the energy pathways, called meridians. By using muscle response testing and acupressure to release these meridian blockages, energy is released allowing related organs and nerve pathways to function normally again.

Naturopathy (Tracy Pollard) | Answer Video

Naturopathy, or naturopathic medicine, is a system of medicine based on the healing power of nature. Naturopathy is a holistic system, meaning that naturopathic doctors (N.D.s) strive to find the cause of disease by understanding the patient as a totality of body, mind, and spirit. Most N.D.s use a wide variety of therapies and techniques (such as nutrition, herbal medicine, homeopathy, and acupuncture).

Reflexology (Joan Savage) | Answer Video

Reflexology is a complementary therapy, which works on reflex areas on the feet--which are linked to other areas and organs of the body--to help heal the whole person not just the prevailing symptoms. Reflexology can be used to help restore and maintain the body’s natural equilibrium. This gentle therapy encourages the body to work naturally to restore its own healthy balance.

Reiki (Gloria Lee, Joan Savage) | Answer Video

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

Spiritual Counselling (Rev. Sandi King) | Answer Video

There is one fundamental element that makes spiritual counselling different from traditional types of counselling - That is the belief in a greater power - a belief in God. Spiritual counselling deals with the individual as a soul in a physical body limited by the physical world. This means the counsellor recognizes the client as an eternal soul dealing with the challenges of a physical existence.

The Spiritual Counsellor helps the client, a living soul discover the purposefulness in events and challenges in the free will universe. They can empower a client to take charge of their life and to stop being a victim.
