Complementary Health Practioners
Q & A Session

Practioners in Charlottetown, PEI, Canada, were asked a series of questions about their particular practice or therapy. The following are all of the answers provided by Patricia MacKinnon, N.A.E.T. practitioner.

Nambudripad Allergy Elimination Technique, known as N.A.E.T., is a technique is based on the principle that when contact is made with an allergen, it causes blockages in the energy pathways, called meridians. By using muscle response testing and acupressure to release these meridian blockages, energy is released allowing related organs and nerve pathways to function normally again.

In NAET, allergies are viewed from a holistic perspective based on Oriental Medical principles and are defined in terms of the effect an allergic substance has on the energy flow in the body. Therefore, an allergy can cause all sorts of physical ailments in the body such as pain, asthma, sinusitis, headaches, migraines, negative emotions, itching, nervous stomach, irritable bowel, insomnia, indigestion, fibromyalgia, and hundreds of other health conditions. Additionally, the allergies can appear conventionally as an allergic reaction to animals, chemicals, other products of the environment. People can even have allergies, emotional or physical, to other family members, work associates, and others in their environment. .
